How do you buy a train ticket from knoxville to New York?
I need to buy a train ticket from Knoxville, TN to New York. I don't know where the train station is in Knoxville or if they even have one. If anybody knows where the nearest train station to Knoxville is please tell me.

- The closest Amtrak stations to Knoxville are in Atlanta GA and Charlotte NC. Train service operates from there to New York every day. Check the Amtrak site for schedules.
- Amtrak runs 1 daily round-trip between Atlanta and New York, and 2 trains between Charlotte and New York. The "Crescent" stops at both Charlotte and Atlanta. While the times may be a bit obscene, traveling through that area in the overnight hours, it does arrive and depart New York at more friendly times of around 2:00pm. The additional departure between Charlotte and New York is named the "Carolinian" is a full day trip departing each city in the morning and arriving in the late evening. All trains have a cafe car where you can purchase sandwiches snacks and beverages. In addition, the Crescent has a full blown Diner Car which is like a restaurant on wheels, as well as sleeping cars with showers for first class customers. Overall, the Crescent is a nicer train, if you can tolerate boarding at 2:00am in the morning. Also, expect to be about an hour or two late in each direction. South of Washington DC, Amtrak trains are guests on the freight railroad's tracks and are dispatched by the freight carriers. Unfortunately, Amtrak trains often take a delay in favor of the freight trains, but this does not always happen.
